Yuri Elkaim All Day Fat Burning Diet Pdf
Author 5 books 1 follower
I'm a fan of Yuri Elkaim's work online, so this book was pretty disappointing for me. It's convoluted, complicated and unrealistic for the average person. I'm sure the program would be successful for someone who has 2-3 hours each day to focus on fitness, another 2 or so for food prep, and a pretty unlimited food budget. However, that's not the world that most of us live in. If you're looking for information on improving human performance, I would pass this book up and reach for Tim Ferriss's The 4-Hour Body instead. They cover many of the same things, but Ferris lays it out in a much more entertaining and easy to read way. If you're looking for a practical and easy to follow diet, this isn't it. Pick up Mark Bittman's VB6 instead. I will say, in Elkaim's promo videos for this books he talks about this being a program for people who have tried everything else and failed. Maybe if you're really struggling to lose weight and are able and willing to put all the time and resources into this, it's a good last resort. However, for the average person it's just not realistic.

#NewBook... made an exception for this one!
Conclusion:
I was looking for a do-able fitness routine that can be done @home
in combination is a 21 day eating plan.
3 days per week of 30 minutes exercise (...not an exhausting routine, really!)
I've followed the menu plan for the first 3 days
...and I am VERY impressed with recepies! Delicious!
Elkaim does fill many chapters about the nuts and bolts of why
many people have difficulty losing weight
(some scientific basic knowledge how the body store fat)
which I found interesting.
This plan can be easily incorporated into my lifestyle long term.
Caveat: NO BREAD....but I don't miss it at all!
#PerfectDietBook....in any case it is for me!

I won a copy from a Goodreads Giveaway. I was excited to receive a copy since I've never read any books by Mr. Elkaim before and I'm always eager to discover new ways to improve my overall fitness and how I can exercise and eat better. I am wary of any 'diets' that eliminate certain foods unless you have a specific allergy or sensitivity to nuts, wheat or gluten or a particular food that might, you know, kill you. In general, I ascribe to the motto of everything in moderationway of eating (but not living and loving!). And I can't see giving up dairy since I love cheese, ice cream and yogurt, not necessarily in that order. Most of the facts I've read previously in other fitness books minus a few tidbits. I did appreciate the section on post recovery and how Mr. Elkaim emphasized its importance, a critical fact that many people do not take into account, including me. The basic exercises are easy to do and most anyone can follow. The recipes are simple and straightforward to make and I plan to try them, especially the smoothies. I enjoyed the facts I did glean from this book and will apply them to my basic eating and fitness routine now.

First of all, the writing of this book is so convoluted and confusing. There are chapters upon chapters of worthless crap. I don't care about the history of gluten. Nowhere in the book is a simple matrix of the dietary guidelines, recommended meals, and exercise requirements. You have to search through various chapters to find the recommended diet, snacks, and exercise instructions for a particular day. Secondly, the diet doesn't work. At least it didn't for me. I have been on it for 12 days and lost exactly 4 pounds. On one day, I actually gained 2 pounds! Then it took me five days to lose them again. Book is going in the trash, on to the next plan.

If you want a safe and effective way to lose that excess baggage, this book is for you. This diet revolves around a 5 day food cycling plan, with a regular calorie, low calorie, low carb, feast, and fast day. There is also an exercise regimen to amp up your fat burning results. I have been doing this for a month now, and have lost about 10 pounds, almost 5% body fat, and several inches. Better yet, I feel amazing! My body loves this way of eating. The fasting days can be tough, but they are doable and get easier as you go along. I can see myself eating this way forever. I haven't incorporated the exercise plan yet, as I have experienced some adrenal issues the last several years and have been sticking with walking an hour a day and yoga, but I'm sure that when I do, I will increase my weekly weight loss. I love this plan! Everything is based on science, and the food is just delicious!!!

I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. This is the first diet book I have read by this author. Some information written in the book comes from other sources based on the number of endnotes in the back of the book. Some interesting facts and information was good. Liked some of the recipes and love the exercises.

Hard to follow with the various programs for food/exercise for each day. I felt like I needed a cheat sheet to understand all the various nuances. I tried it for a week and liked the variety but I would not be able to continue food cycling without a lot of prep and planning.

I think this book would be super useful if I needed to make a big life change. I've been experimenting with intermittent fasting and wanted to learn more about it, which is why I read this... I appreciated all the science behind the book but I just can't see myself trying the diet or lifestyle or whatever you want to call it that elkaim prescribes. If I felt crappy or was having trouble losing weight I'd be open to it but the five day cycle of eating doesn't feel like it would be sustainable or practical for me at this point in my life.
This is an amazingly informative book! Great scientific research in each chapter yet somehow still straightforward. I found myself taking pages of notes and digging deeper into some of the topics presented. The diet is also very well laid out and supported by so much additional healthy research out there. I love that there is a really straightforward plan - but that the core of it is based off eating real food! I highly recommend this read if you are interested in learning more about how food affects you, trying to eating better and of course if you want to lose weight and feel better.

I was part of the first beta test for this book over a year ago. It was good to finally read the final draft of Yuri's creation. Lots of information, but sometimes my eyes glazed over as he launched into the scientific reasoning behind his plan. Does the diet work? Yes. I lost about 10 pounds in 3 weeks when I did it the first time. Did I keep the weight off? No. It came back when I went back to eating regularly again. There is a lot of good stuff in here. If you are able to keep up the 3 week cycle, repeating it over and over again, you will for sure keep losing weight. For those who have a lot of weight to lose, this book is awesome. For those with not as much to lose, this book has great info, but you won't see major pounds dropping off after the first week. I've tried doing the diet a few times and have found success every time, but I can't manage to keep it up. It's a great diet if you are cooking for yourself or maybe you and your spouse, but when you have a whole family to cook for, it's tough. Most of the recipes aren't that appealing to my kids. Cooking two dinners, two breakfasts, and two lunches everyday gets to be too much.
